These posts form my school fellows in the blogosphere are disturbing. I guess this is what happens when you send sg kids to an American school.

Instead of whining on the internet, why not take it to internal platforms such as SMUBE/SMUSA and press for dialogue with the management, who will be able to address your concerns, and you know, even implement new practices to increase your comfort level.

Pity my peers just want everything fed to them, want grades without learning and what-not. All you have to watch out for in SMU is bratty and whiny students who don't want to grow up. FAIL. Otherwise it's a mighty fine facilitator for real learning and practical skills.

And btw, the school system has been encouraging me to participate in endless new activities sourced for by CCAa that can make me healthier, enhance my creativity, help me make friends and have some giddy fun and make me open-minded and unafraid to step-out of my comfort zone. The horror.

It's a privilege to study here, I wish SMU would screen students based on what they want from the uni system. Heck, I've tons of ideas on how SMU can attract students who can truly utilize the system for their gain, and not tear it down and turn it to NUS/NTU(which are archaic in some respects and just don't hold a candle to SMU in training management students).

Guess what, I'm gonna ask the school admin to address the netizens' concerns and let the world know the school's philosophy. Then the right students will flock to SMU.

I've read many of King's stuff over the decades ( yes, he and I are the same age). I noticed a long time ago that he often leaves much to our imagination at the end of his books - and our imagination is much more vivid than anything King has to offer.

I've read the Gunslinger series three times and listened to it on tape and CD twice. Remember the card in book one - "Death - but not for you Gunslinger" . King TELLS you the ending right there.

The horn - he KEPT it this time! He got the chance to do it all over again and get it right - THAT"S what the ending is telling us. and King allows us to imagine what that "new" world could be like - this could finally be his last trip - and he lets US write that book #8 in our minds.

last thougght - if you don't like the way he ends Gunslinger, don't read "from a Buick 8" or "Cell".

last last thought - You MUST read (better yet listen to the CD) Hearts over Atlantis (King reads it to us himself) if you really want to understand The Tower fully.

I totally agree with Chris.
Any other end would have been irritating to me!
It's and endless road Roland is walking along. Imagine what could be happen if he somtimes break the circle...imagine what....
This end has brought much more room to fantasize than any other - maybe simple - end.
I love the tower and I think I will start to read through it again soon.

Why does the ending of the series irritate everyone so much? Am I the only person on Earth who can see what made it such a powerful ending... what made it the RIGHT ending? That tower was his OBSESSION. All throughout the story it was foreshadowed and even blatantly stated that Roland was damned by his Tower. This ending was inevitable. This ending was brilliant... a damnation more lasting and more strange than anything we could've ever been prepared for! And then there's the horn... what does that mean? King leaves us only to imagine. I think it was the most brilliant ending ever depicted. Everyone who disagrees... read the tales again all the way through and I am confident you will appreciate the ending once you reach it a 2nd time.

I really love the Dark Tower series, I read the books with much gusto, and even through the ending was beyond anything I could fathom on my own, it created a deepness in life I didn't seemingly have before. Maybe we just all are casing some dark tower, a darkness that can even tell you about itself. King just tapped into some kind of energy and went with it, in the end we all die, no? Or at to say the least move on to another world.

I agree. ending annoyed and saddened me, even to depression. After falling in love with all of the characters, the ending is flat and somewhat anti-climactic. I wish Stephen King would write a sequel. I honestly think Book seven requires it. Any comments on how to interpret the ending? Thanks:)
